This abstract oil painting of a bowl is part of a much larger body of work therefore when I started doing the preparatory work for these abstract paintings I knew from experience that most people couldn’t see the subtleties nor would understand the intricate planning and paint mixing involved in this body of work. Maximizing my understanding of colour has always been one of my career objectives. The subtleties of hue, value and intensity can either make of break a painting. I started calling this body of work “vessels” not just because they contain shapes of bowls and vases, but also because they contain the experiments that have brought me a better understanding concerning the use and the intrinsic nature of colour.
This painting is done on canvas. The work is signed on the front. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
