Becoming an artist requires you to put a lot of yourself, your feelings and your ideas into your work.
If one looks at my recent series of paintings that I have called “Luncheon at the Studio” one will see a collection of avocados, tea pots, espresso makers on the canvases.
These paintings reflect a tranquility and peacefulness that I desire to have instead of what is actually going on in my present. These paintings are projected positive moments and emotions. I have always believed that our thoughts create our lives and that what our mind dwells on actually comes to pass. The colors I have chosen transmit hope, joy and happiness. These works are about the transmission of positive energy into an environment and eventually into the world.
These paintings also speak of gratitude. At one time in my life a prayer of gratitude was said before every meal. At times there wasn’t any food on my table yet I remained grateful for shelter, for warmth and for the kindness of strangers.
