It’s crucial to pause in our daily lives and find our centre. Take a few deep breaths, step outside, or initiate a mindfulness practice. This simple act can bring a wave of calm and peace, relieving the stress and chaos of our daily lives.
Our Journey
We all embark on this journey equipped with a map, a compass, a backpack, and a pair of sandals. Along the way, we encounter distractions that can lead us astray. But it’s important to remember that we have the power to overcome these distractions and stay on course. By doing so, we open ourselves up to opportunities for growth and evolution.
Fallback Positions or Workarounds
We rely heavily on our past and our past experiences. We take fallback positions instead of looking for new workarounds, get stuck in a loop, and stop moving up the path. We get stuck in our old ways of thinking and our old behaviours. We seek out old rituals and patterns that once brought us peace, dulled the pain and relieved our anxiety.
Doubts set in. Fear sets in. We start asking ourselves a lot of “what ifs” instead of “why not.”
We really need to look at our map.
Where exactly were we going? What did we want our lives to look like when we embarked on *The Path*? And where are we now?
Skeletons In The Attic
We all suffer from some form of PTSD or another. We all have our skeletons, some recalled, others hidden in the deep recesses of our minds. I am no different. My past looms large when I am reminded of them by current life events. Skeletons topple out of closets that I never knew I had. Tony Robbins says the experiences of the past give us the ability to face the present and provide us with the opportunity to create a new level of living. In other words, we are allowed to evolve if we want to.
I awoke in the early morning hours today asking myself some of the same questions that I am putting forth here.
Took out my map.
Looked at my compass.
Realized that all the “flash and glitter” has gotten the best of me once again.
I am back on track again…map and compass clutched firmly in my hand.
Namaste.
