Is it Karma?
A few years ago, I received a call from a long-time friend. They were unwell and felt that their illness was somehow linked to the wrongdoings they had committed against me. They asked hesitantly, …do you think it’s karma? I laughed and assured them that what was happening to them had nothing to do with what they had done to me.
Life lessons
Thankfully, my friend survived their illness. I am grateful that their karma allowed them to survive. One would think that anyone given a second chance at life would have a profound spiritual awakening. Unfortunately, their survival of this instance of bad karma has made them feel invincible, reinforcing the first lesson in life: some people never understand the bigger picture. Their mistreatment of me and others continues.
Karma is not about a previous life
What you are experiencing now was created by you recently in this time-space continuum. It has absolutely nothing to do with a past life, but has everything to do with what you have done in this life. This is the true nature of karma. Karma is not the cause but the reaction to something.
My own understanding
Everything and everyone on this planet is governed by universal law. Therefore, I am not immune to karma either. I am, however, aware of karmic law and the law of attraction, and I try to live my life according to these principles. I have also faced negative experiences in life, but I see these as reminders to adjust or refine some of my behaviours moving forward.
Spirituality
I often remind myself of the actions needed to lead a more connected and meaningful life. While we all understand what must be done, the path can seem difficult and distant. Society demands quick answers, but real progress occurs gradually, one step at a time.
Some things you can fix, some things you can’t
There are limits to your actions, as most solutions require assistance from others. If they refuse to collaborate with you in finding a solution, you must accept the situation and move on. Acceptance is the second key life lesson I’ve learned. I’ve realized that at times, there’s nothing more I can do, and I must rely on fate.
Rest assured, I know with absolute certainty that karma will take care of the rest.
