One-sided stories

History is always written by the victors and never by the vanquished. Crimes against humanity, genocide, rape and general mistreatment of the population always get covered up for extended periods of time.  Some wrongs have yet to be righted and some just never will. One just has to look at what Canadians have done to their aboriginal peoples. Only now are we beginning to listen to the horrific abuses inflicted upon them by government, religious orders and Canadians in general. Yet our First Nations have been reporting crimes against them since colonists came to this country and no one listened.

Boundaries

People who know me, know my history. Significant parts of my life were brutal and I survived them. I have thrived in spite of the violence, the abuse and the shunning. I never have had to put up boundaries until now.  It doesn’t matter who you are. Remember, either you’re with me or you’re not.

Six degrees

What abusers forget is that I have very close friends and six degrees of separation is all that separates me from you.

They are listening.

It’s no longer the one-sided stories.
