“Realize that your gift does not only belong to you”

Our ability to be creative comes as a great surprise to many. We are often told that someone else in our family or that our child is gifted and that we are not. While I discovered the joy of drawing while sitting in church as a child, others have discovered their creativity in moments of personal or emotional crisis.
Very few seem to be aware that creativity is within reach for all of us. It is available to all those seeking it and not just in hard times but in good times as well. It is a wonderful gift.
Over twenty years ago I was asked to be a mentor, a teacher and a creative guide. I was blessed to help and to witness thousands of individuals discovering their own creativity. It has brought me a great deal of joy and satisfaction supporting others on their creative journeys. Sharing in creativity with others is part of what it means to be human.
I have never been self-taught.
Just like every one of you I was given the awareness of the creativity within me by other artists.
My list of teachers and mentors is long and it includes hundreds of individuals who taught me and supported my creativity for the past four decades. Every single person was important in my development.
Joachim Pednault, Steve Bloomer, Guido Molinari, Yves Gaucher, John (Jack) Marok Sr., Gerald Pedros, Francis Caprani, Marion Wagshall, Patrick Landsley, Mervin Dewes, Robert Bordo, Lenore Krantz, Alfred Pinsky and many more have all contributed to my development as an artist.
Many people have climbed Everest but omitted to tell people about the Sherpa who carried their gear to the top for them.
Some omit to mention the teachers who supported them and trained them.
We all have teachers.
